The organization's infatuation of mediocre veteran leadership sickens me on a daily basis.
Even though the Marlins are going to suck bad this year, at least they are going to let the kids play. I'm beginning to think that this might be the best way to go as an organization, or the "bait-and-switch" of the pickup of "baseball players with veteran precense" will keep this club in the 4-5 range in the NL Central for years to come.
Or, as I am terribly hoping, that WayneK is turning this thing around. Now.
I think Narron wants to win as many games as possible in order to keep his job.
In his mind the safe way to do that is with veteran players.
Sad thing is most of our older veteran players have little to no range in the field and make too many outs at the top of the line up.
The Reds need a manager who cares about the future of this club and has guts enough to play the younger guys that at least have a chance to be a part of that future.
I quess it is tough to manage towards 2008 if your contract is done after 2006 though.
