CHICAGO -- Those new steroid penalties? Pretty stiff, as a couple of Reds minor leaguers are about to find out.
Right-handers Justin Mallett and Ramon Ramirez have been suspended 50 games each after violating MLB's minor league drug policy.
Ramirez tested positive for a "performance enhancing substance," while Mallett tested positive for a "drug of abuse."
