Re: Chapman to Rotation in May

Honestly, I don't care what the plan is as long as there is one and it's written in permanent marker displayed prominently throughout the organization. When it comes to the treatment of a potential staff ace, the following terms or phrases should be strictly prohibited:

    "We're not sure"
    "There is no set plan"
    "We'll see how it goes"
    "There is no innings limit"
    "Out of Necessity"
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

The decision has been made to move him to the rotation. I don't care if there is not one healthy reliever on the roster, the decision has been made, no more waffling. Have a plan, stick to it. Period

Year Four and we are still waiting on Aroldis to make his first major league start. Would anyone have predicted that when the Reds signed him?

It's certainly somewhat surprising to me that we are still waiting on the debut of Aroldis Chapman (as a starter that is). If someone had told me he wouldn't make a single start before the 2013 season, I would have assumed he had injured himself.

Now it sounds like we may have to wait until May. Personally, I could care less if they wait until June. We already know we will be getting a dominant back end bullpen guy (preferably in the closer role) regardless.

Whatever management can do to have Chapman in the starting rotation in late September is fine by me.

Yah I'm not sure about it, but with broxton closing makes me fell better can't waist his talent and he isn't just a lefty specialist! He's send a righty back to the bench just like he'll sent a lefty to the bench!

I'm not sure I like the May plan. So do you use him as a starter in sprint training, move him to the pen for a month, then into the rotation?

I would like this plan if Dusty was not the manager. He has been against Chapman being a starter for 3 years now. This just gives him an extra month to try and find a way to keep him in the bullpen.
