Been to 11 of the last 12 Opening Day's but this one is going to be tough to make. I have a son due close enough to OD that I can't make plans just yet. I may be watching from a hospital room, my living room, or section 143. I love OD and I'm hoping to be in attendance again, but the little guy may have other plans.

As for me, I just bought my tickets tonight - the little lady and I will be enjoying the Reds opening up 1-0 from section 108, row V.

This will only be my second Opening Day at the park, my first was in 2005. Hopefully this one is just as awesome.

I'm guessing your other half has ruled out giving birth at the ballpark?

I'm kidding... sort of. You'd definitely make some headlines!

That's a negative Ghostrider... She doesn't do Opening Day though, OD is a boy's trip for me. Depending on work and family responsibilities 6-10 of us make the trip. We loved the Thursday games and made a weekend out of it by hitting the casino or golf course. Our wives never want any part of that ugliness! lol

Six pack of 16 Ounce PBR from the fast station for 4.99.
    Pizza?

In a stunning coincidence, that's the plan for tonight as well.

Will be in attendance at GABP for the 3rd consecutive year. We have a group of 4 that enjoys several of Cincinnati's establishments. Looking forward to visiting the Yard House this year prior to the game.

Don't get me wrong, I like it and it's exciting. But for me, it's more the anticipation of what's to come. Every Reds season is like a book waiting to get written. The really cool thing about sports is that nobody knows what will happen. There are thousands, if not millions, of little independent events that all act in a grand concert that result in the season. Each Reds game in the context of all of the other NL (and even AL games) that affect what it all means is sometimes grand and exciting, sometimes muddled and mundane, sometimes very confusing, but always very interesting to this Reds fan. With every Reds season (and this is my 49th) , I think my anticipation and appreciation grows. It's not just Opening Day, it's OD+1, OD+2.... on to OD+162 and hopefully beyond. It's my daily companion for 6 months that's like Christmas every game.
To me, Opening Day at the ballpark actually kind of sucks. It is overpriced. IT is overcrowded. Too many people there who are just there to be there. I have been to OD a few different times in the last 10 years. It is a much better experience at home.

    I'll be there.

We ought to try and organize some sort of RZ get-together before the game if people are interested.

Same here, I went to almost every opening day from 1988-1993 (Missed 1990 because of the strike thing). It seems overpriced now etc. and that is the reason I stay home and have a get together at my house.

Don't blame the other people who go though. Just not my thing anymore. OK, OK, unless I landed some free tickets from my work vendor.

    Sitting in class.

Personally I always enjoy Opening Night just as much as Opening Day. Probably because we play so many night games that putting the Reds on TV just makes everything seem right.

Been a fan since 1970. One of my dreams is to go to a Reds opening day game and one day I hope I get to, however for now I will be watching in my home. Here's hoping for a great year

I would love to catch an Opening Day game in person...but an HDTV, a marathon of baseball games, grilling a dozen hot dogs and having a case of cold ones is hard to beat. I always take the day off work.
