    Johnny Bench on Hee Haw

I found this and thought I would pass it along.

With the facial hair, it had to be during the off season. Facial hair was a no-no with the reds for years.

    Enjoy.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qY10...ture=endscreen

He was on two Hee Haw shows. RFDTV shows reruns and I have caught the ones he was on. Bench was a pretty big celebrity when he was at his peak playing days. He was on quite a few variety shows in the 70's.

Probably safe to say that JB and Roy Clark are the only two persons in that video that are still alive today. Also two of the best of all time at what each of them did for a living. Two living legends.

You are correct. They are the only two still living from that segment. Most of the ones that had a prominent role on Hee Haw have passed away.

That show was a staple growing up in our household. Our parents really pushed us to watch a lot of educational TV though.

The TV in our house was tuned to "Hee Haw" every week too. I'm actually shocked to learn that Roy Clark is "only" 79 years old. I thought he was an old man back then but when you're a kid, you think everyone's about 100 years old.

Funny. JB obviously was having a great time. Judging by Bench's appearance I would guess the video was made around 1972-73. Thanks for posting this George.

Johnny does a solid rendition of Jim Croce's Don't mess around with Jim on this episode.
