I guess I was hoping to get a bit more specific on players' performance and roles...

Health is my answer as well, but I'll throw another factor out there that could determine whether this team is good enough to actually win it all.

    Bruce's continued improvement
I may not be fast, but I sure am slow.

I'll give a different answer, though health is obviously Key #1.

    How about: Ludwick's continued offense?

    Managers decision making.

I am not a Dusty basher but assuming this team stays healthy they should easily make the playoffs. After that they cannot have a repeat of the managerial performance like we saw in the Giant series.

    1. Health
    2. Pitching
    3. Focus

My earlier answer was a joke (you can check for white text if you don't believe me ), although I admit, a joke with some element of truth to it.

There is no way they can make it to the Post Season again with virtually zero production out of the top of the lineup. As good as the pitching was, they somehow managed to get by with it last year. Two seasons in a row is pushing it.

I think it all rides on Choo being Choo, and Brandon Phillips not grounding into double play after double play.

I would also hope that Dusty will try to tone down those sacrifice bunts next season. How many rallies were killed off prematurely because of that specific dogma?

Get guys on, and stop giving away outs, because the pitching may not be quite as good as it was last season.

    Shin Soo Choo

This team is going to get pitching and defense outside of Choo the question is what will he be in CF and what can he do at the plate. It's been a long time since the Reds have had a bona fide table setter at the top of the lineup.
