Apparently Lance Lynn lost 40 pounds this off season. No longer can he be mixed in with Prince Fielder and David Wells category of "fitness".

In other news, Lance Lynn looks either lost or on some sort of crazy drug in that picture.

I'm always a bit skeptical when I hear of an athlete dropping that much weight in an off season, which really is a short amount of time. Yes you're dropping bodyfat, but you also will end up losing a certain amount of muscle mass.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

I agree with that. It's going to be interested to see if it ends up hurting him. That said, I think one of the problems with Lynn last year was he got winded down the stretch and one of the issues was his weight problems.

Seems like a very short period of time to lose 40 pounds

    Or Mike Trout

According to Angels' beat writer Mike DiGiovanna, Trout weighed in at 240 pounds when he reported to camp this week.

Not to be contentious, but Opening Day is my Christmas. The day when you can finally start playing with and enjoying the presents.

Ergo, Spring Training is my Advent. The giant tease where nothing happens.

Extrapolating further, this thread is my Advent Calendar. Behind every perforated cardboard cranny is another piece of nutritionally-suspect "best shape of my life" chocolate. If there are any fewer than 30 of them, I feel gypped.

Yes, it's true: I think too hard about analogies.
