From Beacher Report:
From RantSports:Redleg Nation shouldn't judge on stats such as four total wins. It’s more important to see that Shin-Soo Choo has yet to commit an error in center field and is playing good defense.
From YardBarker:So far in spring training, everyone has been keeping an eye on Choo and what he can do in center field. The reports are so far so good as Choo has performed well when called upon.
Two points:The Spring Training season has started, and Shin-Soo Choo is gaining confidence playing center field for the Cincinnati Reds. “But everyday I feel better with practice,” he said. “There’s still work to do. But I feel more confident.” Granted, the former right fielder has only played a little bit, and exhibition baseball is nothing like when the games count, but it’s good that Choo has confidence in his ability to make the transition. As expected, Reds manager Dusty Baker has the same confidence in his player. “This guy is an athlete,” Reds manager Dusty Baker said. “He has a lot of pride. He works hard. He’ll be fine. We just have to preserve his legs.” Choo has done well at the plate, too, showing some on-base skills that were completely absent last season from the lead-off spot. If this switch to center field works, this could be a very good season.
1) The quoted above isn't proof positive that Choo can handle center. But I haven't read anything to the contrary.
2) Jay Bruce has yet to play an inning in center. If Choo was showing signs that he could not handle center, wouldn't they have to start transitioning Jay Bruce sometime soon?

A watched plot never thickens.
If MLB 13: The Show video game is any indication, we are gonna love him out there. He's absolutely raking and playing a mean center field for me. Stealing some bags also.

For years I never missed one of his articles but like you, I'm finding myself increasingly skeptical of his journalistic output. I'll always love the guy though.
If he can become an "average" CF (ranked 20th or better in the league) it would be amazing and a real sign of his work ethic. Guys a gamer.
Only downside is that he now could sign to even more teams this off-season, but I guess with Ludwick/Hamilton we're prepared either way.

Choo was my CF'er yesterday while I was playing with my bobbleheads. Not only did he perform well while on defense and batting leadoff, he won a Nobel Prize, foiled an assination attempt on the President, and started dating Beach Fun Barbie the same day. As a result, I am convinced that Choo will be fine out there.
He'll be fine. 82 games at GABP

Recently Dusty Baker noticed new center fielder Shin-Soo Choo approached bench coach Chris Speier with a question, but not him. The Reds manager went up to his new player and asked why he didn’t come to the manager directly.
“He said in Korea, you don’t talk to the manager directly — the manager is like God,” Baker recalled.
Baker smiled and said he told Choo, “Well, we’re not in Korea.”
I miss Adam Dunn.
If I was Walt, I'd go ahead and him a LTC offer right now.

I want to spend an evening on the town with Choo and Chapman. I just feel like I would learn everything about the whole world that night.
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.
