Bump this as someone is bound to ask in the next few days.
Looks like Ondrusek has options.
Simon's got to be headed for a DL stint and rehab assignment. I would expect the other four to be on the 25-man roster.
I'm not a system player. I am a system.
Simon pitched two good innings the other night, and Dusty said he was sharp and wants him to pitch one more spring game.
This DL idea was a good one, but that doesn't sound like it's happening based on those comments.
If Ondrusek has options that helps break the logjam. But two relievers won't make it from the Hoover, Ondrusek, Arredondo, Parra, and Simon group.
Does Manny Parra have options?

Some of these guys were non-roster invitees who were re-assigned to minor league camp.
Obviously, that shouldn't involve options. For example, Galarraga never was on the Reds major league roster and his re-assignment doesn't involve options.
I'm assuming that when a player signs a minor league deal and attends spring training as a non-roster invitee, he can be "re-assigned" to a minor league team in the organization without exposing him to waivers.
So the Reds presumably can (or already have) reassign Hensley, Miller, Burriss, with no fear of losing them.
Olivo was different, a special status under the new CBA.
A player on the MAJOR league roster must have options or has to be exposed to waivers if sent down.
I assume this is how it works.
