    GOODYEAR, Ariz. — The Reds made their first big cut:

    –Optioned to Louisville LHP Tony Cingrani and RHP Daniel Corcino; optioned to Pensacola RHP Kyle Lotzkar and RHP Josh Ravin; optioned to Bakersfield RHP Carlos Contreras and OF Yorman Rodriguez; optioned to Dayton LHP Ismael Guillon; reassigned to minor league camp RHP Nick Christiani, RHP Chad Rogers, C Nevin Ashley, IF Kristopher Negron and OF Ryan LaMarre.

    I'm not. They want him to work on being a starter. He has more value there.

    Henry has a nice stick to use off the bench....but his defense is going to leave him as a liability and not a favorite of this staff.

    Baker raved about Lutz all spring.

    “There was a lot to be impressed with,” Baker said. “He does a lot of things well. He’s got upside potential. He’s relatively new to the game. He catches on quick. Soto had a good spring, too. Real good. (Henry Rodriguez) had as good hitting spring.

    “I told them all what they had to do to improve. It’s not that much.”

    At the time of the cut, Lutz was hitting .360 with a home run and seven RBI. Soto was hitting .345 with a three doubles and six RBI. And Rodriguez was hitting .370 with three doubles.

    Rodriguez made five errors in limited time.

    lol in the Reds.com article it still has Pollo for Rodriguez. People are gonna be very confused.
