Re: 2013 Redszone NFL Mock Draft Thread

The New York Football Giants, winners of two of the last 6 Super Bowls, have some issues which need to be addressed. First, our offensive line is aging and is better at pass protection than run blocking. Two, we got pushed around along the defensive line a little too much last year. Three, our back seven needs help.

That said, with what is left on board, and as tempting as big Sheldon Richardson is, the New York Football Giants select:

    Alec Olgetree, LB, Georgia

Although difficult to pass on DJ Fluker to shore up the offensive line, the Bears have decided to address the defensive side of the ball.

The Bears select Arthur Brown, MLB, Kansas State to fill the gap left by Brian Urlacher

Re: 2013 Redszone NFL Mock Draft Thread

With the 21st pick in the 2013 NFL draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select D.J. Fluker, OT/G, Alabama. Without knowing where fellow Alabama product Andre Smith will end up, Fluker provides either immediate help at RT or the ability to step in at LG or RG if Clint Boling or Kevin Zeitler don't pan out (the former more likely than the latter).

The Rams select Keenan Allen (WR-California).

With losing Donny Amendola to the Patriots, the Rams needed a replacement at wide receiver and some explosiveness to the offense, hoping that Allen will be one of the best receivers in the league one day.

With the 23rd pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Vikings select DeAndre Hopkins,Wr, Clemson. Ponder needs more weapons. After adding Greg Jennings, Hopkins will be a solid number two in the Vikings offense.

With the 24th pick the Indianapolis Colts select Damontre Moore DE/OLB Texas A&M.

The Colts draft Dwight Freeney's replacement.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

With the 25th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Vikings select:
    Manti Te'o ILB Notre Dame
Despite the recent hoax controversy, Te'o is still second on the Vikings board at the LB position (after Arthur Brown). He is the leader that the team needs at middle linebacker and no one works harder. He will fit in well with the team, as Harrison Smith and John Sullivan are former teammates of Te'o. They will help to create a support system for the obvious heckling he will receive.

Re: 2013 Redszone NFL Mock Draft Thread

With the 27th overall selection, the Houston Texans select:

TYLER EIFERT, TIGHT END, NOTRE DAME

It’s time for the Texans to begin thinking about the long-term future of their passing attack because Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels are all on the wrong side of thirty. The situation at tight end might be most dire because Daniels has always struggled to stay healthy and James Casey bolted as a free agent. Tyler Eifert of Notre Dame is a matchup nightmare with a large frame, excellent athleticism, enough speed to get down the seam, reliable hands and outstanding body control and ball skills. The addition of Eifert would help ensure the continued success of Houston’s already potent passing attack, especially in the red zone.

QB Matt Barkley, TE Zach Ertz and WR Justin Hunter were also under serious consideration.
    Go BLUE!!!
