I just watched a 60 Minutes sports edition and it had a story on Tough Mudders and other like races. It looked like a blast and I was wondering if anyone had done them and their experiences.

When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.
I'm not much of a runner, but even if I were, I don't think I would be into jumping into a pool of ice or getting electro-shocks while doing it. If people really want to experience some pain while they run, they can send me their money and I'd be happy to hire some dominatrices with segways and cat-o-nine-tails to chase them to the finish line. Our slogan would be "We'll Whip You Into Shape."
Wear gaudy colors, or avoid display. Lay a million eggs or give birth to one. The fittest shall survive, yet the unfit may live. Be like your ancestors or be different. We must repeat!
Since I was in the Army and did that stuff for several yrs during my youth I often pass when asked to do them. However a group of folks from my work participate and they say it's a very good time. I think it all depends on if you have a good group of folks to do it with or not. Either way take plenty of time to train for it as it is basically a half marathon with obstacles every mile or so.

There are groups all over Facebook as well.
Best of luck!!!

If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.
I did one in 2011. A ton of fun and exhausting. The afterparty was a blast as well. Best advice train for it, don't worry about winning, and get a team of friends that will be as dedicated as yourself. I went with some ranger buddies. Expect to have someone in your group to lag behind and need additional help, its all part of it (for the record I was that guy, but not as bad as most teams had a that guy). The only reason I haven't done another is just because of timing. I would highly recommend.
Another fun event is a zombie 5k or 10k. They get volunteers to dress as zombies throughout the course and steal flags. I haven't done this (again timing) but a lot of my friends have and they rave about it.
I've done one. I think it was only fun because I was in a group of friends otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.
