In a low scoring game, the Reds beat the Diamondbacks 2-1 on a Perez Triple, a hit batsman and a Groundout. Dusty must have been proud. Arroyo with 6 good innings and great bullpen work with Simon closing.

Ludwick 2 hits. Felipe Perez 2 hits (hitting .800). Henry Rodriguez a hit (hitting .400). And that's all, folks. Pitching was superb.
Nobody asked me, but Henry Rodriguez is my pick to click this year. He could hit .350 in Louisville. Also really like seeing Ludwick round into shape as Spring Training ends.
On another note, who is Felipe Perez?
Odds and Ends on the final day of exhibition games:
Choo lines one off the glove of the pulled-in third sacker that dribbles into left field. Nice to start the game off with someone who can get on base, isn't it?
Brett Meyers carving up the Reds' Minor Leaguers, perfect through 3 with 3 Ks.
Bailey touching 96 in the first inning.
Homer looking sharp. He blows away Aaron Hill with another 96 MPH fast ball on the lower outside corner, which Hill can only look at.
Billy Hamilton with a glimpse of the future. He singles, steals second, moves to the third on a ground ball and scores on another ground ball out.
Frazier doubles with two outs. Izturis singles on a liner to right. Frazier stops at third, Izturis moves to second on the throw. Heads-up baseball. Izturis never hit like this in his life. But it might just secure him a spot on the 25-man. Frazier's double was a rocket. Hanigan with a soft liner to third to end the threat.
Armando Galarraga having a rough day. In 3+ innings, he has given up 3 hits, walked 4, allowed one home run, struck out just one batter and somehow given up just one run. Galarraga gives up two more hits in the 4th, trails 2-1.
Homer feeling his oats. Against Miguel Montero - 95/96/96/95/94. Three straight Ks. 6 up and 6 down. Love to see Homer emerge this season. Or, more accurately, continue on in 2013 how he ended the 2012 season.
Bailey rips a single in to left to start. Nice. With two gone, Votto doubles him home, a rope to right center. Ludwick walks. Bruce with a line single. 2-0. They are shredding Wade Miley. Frazier a line shot to make it 3-0. Votto will no longer slide on his left leg per Thom. He practices every day sliding on his right leg.
Hessman with a double. Phipps with a single. No scoring though.
Jason Kubel and his 30+ homers is 7th in the DBacks lineup. That is pretty strong.
Bailey still rushing it up there at 96 in the third. After 7 outs to start the game, Pennington singles to center. Choo makes a feet-first sliding attempt and comes up just short. Miley bunts the runner to second. Bailey made a full-out extended dive in an attempt to snag the bunt. Yikes! A walk and a grounder ends the threat.
Galarraga done for the day. An ex-hand Dodger farmhand now on the mound for the Reds. Jose Diaz. He is sporting a Dodgers' cap on Gameday. http://www.baseball-reference.com/mi...d=diaz--012jos He gives up a leadoff triple. A sac fly scores the runner. Did a little snooping and that is the wrong Jose Diaz. This is the right Jose Diaz. http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl...diazjo01.shtml
Tanner Rahier with an infield single. Slidin' Billy forces him. Hamilton at first. Let the fun begin.
Bailey with another 1-2-3, including another K.
Homer dominated. 6IP 1H 0ER 1BB 7K 0HR. Last time through the rotation yielded four excellent outings. Latos was sick. Reds bats came alive today. 9 runs on 16 hits and still batting in the 9th.
Opening Day straight ahead.

Thanks for all the updates during spring training!
I find it odd to have a split squad game this late in spring training, not sure I can remember one happening this late before.
