What the hell happened to this guy? Sent to High-A ball and he's due more than $20MM over the next three years. He just told a reporter "I don't belong here. This isn't for me."
I'd take a flyer on the guy if the Jays would pick up 80-90% of his salary. If Chapman's not going to start, Reds could use a potential lefty for the rotation if he ever puts it back together.
At one point, a lot of people on this board were advocating trading Votto for him. (I'm serious)

Honestly have to wonder if he isn't hurt and just doesn't realize it yet. Last year his walk rate ballooned. So far this spring, it has been terrible.
Or maybe they are just trying to pull another Roy Halladay out of the hat.
Reminds me of the career of the D-Train without the highest of highs. One day a dominant young lefty poised to be a force for years to come and the next batting practice.

His walk rate ballooned to over 5 per 9IP while his K/9 dropped for the 3rd year in a row. His velocity stayed about the same (-.9 on the FB but slight increase on other pitches). His wFB was -23.8. I don't think ayone can pitch in the majors if their FB gets punished to that level.
Its like Scott Kazmir, but without the velocity drop.
