It was a bad example, but you are right on the mark with this statement. I've seen it, over and over.

Dave Duncan never even pitched. Worked out decent enough as a pitching coach though. *sarcasm on the decent enough part, he was fantastic*

Yep. Mes is out there pitching. The guy who no one wanted starting at all this season is getting beat around and it is the catchers fault.

    Forget it, he's rolling.

Until Mez doesn't something positive, I'm going to hold my ground. You all talk in absolutes in defending the guy.

So far it's all hype. Face it.

It's not trolling. It's using fact, the actual game going on and the results, to back up what I think about Mez. There's nothing trolling about that.

The old "I don't like your opinion, so please post less" tactic, eh?

Goodnight. Headed out for the night. Won't be on here anymore tonight.

If you're going to be ragging on a guy every time he fails, then even with the best players, you're going to be doing it 70% of the time.

I submit that the last thing anyone here wants to read is an enumeration of an individual player's failures in a game of failures.

    Please think of us.

Actually, no, this isn't the case in the least. Go back and search your posts. Too much of it is simply inflammatory drivel. If you were more level headed and less prone to emotional outbursts which completely derail any point you were trying to make, that would help a lot, me thinks.

Just what I've noticed reading the last couple of months.

I think his first name is Howard.

    And that he knows quack-fu.

Re: Mesoraco makes team, Olivo down or gone

Agreed. The Reds most glaring organizational need sans Mes would be a catcher to groom as the replacement for the 33 y/o journeyman getting the bulk of the starts now. If Mes could bring in a big bat or a better arm, chances are the Reds wouldn't be able to fit that player into the budget. Mes has more value to the team than anything he could reasonably bring back that the Reds could afford. It may not be value this week, but the catching situation isn't a need because Mes is here. If he's gone, it jumps to the top of the list. Put me down for being happy that the Reds have a good player who is having a hard time cracking the line-up and fits pretty well with what will likely be the team's most obvious job opening in the next year or two.

    Edit:

Somehow the post I quoted was erased, probaly by a fat finger trick by me, so this doesn't make sense. This was in resposne to post 295 in this thread about what the Reds could possibly get for Mes is a deal that would actually improve the team.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

So, I'm just curious. What do people see as the percentages for the responsibility of the effectiveness of a pitcher-catcher battery? 95% pitcher 5% catcher? 80-20? 50-50? Higher? Lower?
