Joe Torre: Perfection is an impossible standard in any endeavor, but our goal is always to get the calls right.

But of course, they won't call for the game to be picked up as a tie game and you know, actually get the stinking call right.

Speaking of Indians/A's, Scott Kazmir threw 6 innings of 1 run ball with 10 K's. It'd be nice to see him continue to pitch well even if he won't ever be what he once was. His story with Tampa kinda reminds me of Harang with us, where he was an elite pitcher on a poor team for years and injuries got to him just when the team was getting good.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Apparently he hit mid 90s too, which you don't expect. Usually when a guy loses that much velocity he doesn't get it back.

Bizarre incident in Astros/Angels. Astros changed pitchers and for some reason changed pitchers again without the pitcher facing a batter. After he warmed up. No injury is being reported as of yet. Scioscia is protesting the game.

You know you're not having a good stretch when anything the Astros do towards you is considered worthy of protest.

Well, they did end up winning the game, can they take back the protest?

I think its automatically dropped. That sounded weird but everything about the Astros is weird.

Ramon Ortiz is starting for the Blue Jays tonight. Yes, that Ramon Ortiz.

He should be in our other thread about lesser known or bad Reds.

Ortiz #34 pitching to Ortiz #34, anyone remember any other batter v. pitcher with the same last name and number?

Let me guess, Toronto was trailing 4-0 after 1?

In your face! He allowed 1 run in 5 innings. Walked 5 and gave up 4 hits with just 1 strikeout. But totally faced you!
