I have moved 36 posts that have absolutely nothing to do with the purpose of this thread to a new thread. Do not hijack threads with discussion that has nothing to do with the thread's purpose.

I was at the Angels game for Pujols walkoff double. It was kind of a weird game. The Angels had all the offense but the Astros lead the entire time. The cool thing was, Trout scored the winning run and it was his bobblehead night AND they gave him his ROY plaque (and Hamilton his Silver Slugger) before the game. Nice.

And, while too early to make any generalization, the Nats are well on the way to being swept after only one inning. Gio, arguably the surest starter so far this year (after Det), gives up 3 top of the 1st. If the bats stay quiet again, this will be the 3rd loss.

Justin Upton with his ML-leading 7th dinger of the season, courtesy Gio, who's well on his way to his worst start and earliest exit of the year. Really disappointing weekend for the Nats though still 7 innings left today for the Nats to turn it around. Of course, that'd require a sputtering O to generate at least 5 runs assuming Gio can hold the Bravos at 4.

The Braves are absolutely on fire. Up 7-0 early against the Nationals.

They're insanely hot right now. But the thing that's probably also true and not being acknowledged in DC by local media or the team: the Braves are better. At least now they're clearly better in all facets of the game relative to the Nats. Maybe that changes later in the year. On paper, the Nats should at least be as good. But it's the results that matter and so far the Nats players are sounding a tad ridiculous giving interviews that robotically and consistently issue the normal platitudes (they're not better, it's a long season, that's baseball). Annoying.

Hate to make the early prediction but, given the way the nats' bats have(n't) been connecting, this game is over now just in the 3rd inning. Very hard to imagine the Nats getting 8 runs back in this game. And we're going to be into the BP bigtime today. Sheesh. I can focus even more majorly on the Reds now.

Braves and Nats should be an interesting battle throughout the season. Atlanta definitely look better right now, but I wouldn't write Washington off quite yet.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Definitely not writing anyone off. Nats are my local team and #2 to CIN on my NL pecking order. My main beef with the nats is I think they're all being coached by idiotic media trainers who have them functioning as a chorus issuing platitudes and delusional explanations to all the fair questions. Own up to stuff. Then fix it. Simple.

Boston/Tampa to the bottom of 6, Clay Buchholz has not given up a hit.

The no-hitter is gone, broken bat single to start the 8th.
