Best rookie start to a season since Howie Polette, circa 1492.

What sport was he playing back in 1492?

Another lucky performance tonight as Miller struck out the #1 hitting team in the NL and Tulo 3 times. Darn you luck! Darn you to the 7 hell's!!!!

This is classic baiting, and we don't need that here.

Would you be satisified if Miller duplicated Polett's career mark of 131-116, 3.51?

And I'm guessing that Miller has a ways to go to match Fernando Valenzuela, who started 8-0 in his first 8 starts, with 7 CG (one start he pitched 9 innings but it went extras), with 5 SH (4 in his 1st 5 games), with a 0.50 ERA.

Holy mackerel! Take it easy. Miller will come down to earth like the great Rick Ankiel, AND Fernendo. But 27 strait outs is something I have never seen before. Have you?

There have been 23 perfect games. I imagine there have been thousands of one hitters. The latter is what Miller did.

It was still awfully, awfully good. It was a better pitched game than some of those perfect games and plenty of no hitters.

That is true of a lot of shutouts, one run games, one hitters, two hitters, four hitters, etc. I was responding to someone's astonishment at the notion of retiring 27 in a row and a one hitter.

You are the one who said that Miller's start was the best since 1492? I was simply pointing out that was not correct. If your information is not intended to be accurate, simply say so. But don't take exception if someone corrects information you have posted as factual.

And Bobo Hollman had a no hitter in his first major league start.

    No one suggested otherwise.
