That was a game that SF really needed to win. A sweep would have been brutal.
Who made a bigger statement? The ump or the guy with a neck tattoo?

I thought Latos pitched well enough to win today.

Not the point at all. Molina's tirade was dumb. Period.

In fairness to the umpire, the guy slams his helmet, bang bang play, and he's supposed to discern the intent of the helmet slam? That's ludicrous, but that's the Cards position.

I agree...very dumb. Molina knows how important he is to the Cardinals. He shouldn't have reacted that way. It did look like Molina touched the Umpire, so I'd be shocked if he doesn't get suspended. Even if contact wasn't made...it was obvious that he wanted to do a lot more than make just contact. I'm a huge fan of Molina's, but I don't think the umpire was out of line with the ejection.

I don't think we have the benefit of knowing what crossed Yadi's lips as he slammed his helmet.

Just saw Molina's outburst. I don't know if desrerved ejection for slamming his helmut. It didn't look like he said anything when he did it. I suspect a touchy umpire more than anything. But saying that he shouldn't have went off like he did. He will probably get a three or four days off for that. Also Matheny and Oquendo did a poor job of keeping him away from the umpires. They have to keep pushing him away or just get him in a bear hug to keep him from coming that close to an umpire. Usually you see the coach or manager first get the player off the field then go after the umpire. I think both of those guys were too intent on jumping the umpire and forgetting that Molina could get a suspension for his actions.

I think he was a little to quick to toss him, but after that it's on Yadier. Or more accurately on the people who didn't keep him away from the umpires. Matheny was to quick to want to argue. Protect your player by getting him off the field first and then go after him, you've got all the time in the world to argue. But I can see why both lost their temper.

Break up the Astros! They have won five in a row. Who would have thunk it?

The Angels were swept by the Astros. Wonder if they are regretting those long term expensive signings?

The Angels are privately banging their heads would be my guess.

I hate to 'bust your bubble' but for some weird reason this is a 4 game series that ends tonight. P.S. "Go 'stros, break out the brooms"

...and the Marlins have won 3 in a row. What in the heck is going on here?

With all the excitement of the Astros winning streak, I didn't realize the Marlins had won three in a row. The baseball world must be coming to an end.

The Astros just can't catch a break. Not even with the schedule makers.

Molina appealed his suspension. What is MLB supposed to say?
