Baker can't really like hearing that when he reportedly discourages head-first slides.
I think Ludwick was talking specifically about trying to take 3rd, not about sliding head first.

If 1 game translates to 6 minutes of NFL time, that means 1 out is approximately 13 seconds of NFL time -- roughly the length of time it would take your average non-AJ Green Bengals WR to get open.

I would hope so. It isn't clear to me, though.

I never really thought one way or the other about sliding before....I mean look how Votto tore up his knee.

If you want to break it down and have more fun the average number of pitches thrown per game is 146 per side, or 292 per game. That means each pitch is the equivalent of 1.23 seconds in an NFL game.

So, whenever you get mad over a called strike or ball on a close pitch, it's the equivalent of being mad at the QB pump-faking one time before throwing a pass in your average NFL game.

I actually screwed up the math because I forgot to double the number of outs in the game -- each out in a game is equal to approximately 6.6 seconds.

So, we're talking more "the amount of time it takes Andy Dalton to look to progression #2 if AJ Green is covered."

Soto to 3B! Oh, that would be too painful to watch.
