I haven't followed this thread much, but is this due take the division or just to make the play-offs? I'm assuming it's for the division.

8 is the number for the Reds to clinch a playoff birth. Their magic number to clinch the division is 15. Both the Cards and Pirates have 63 losses. This means the most either can win is 99. Reds have 85 wins so to top either team the Reds would need to have a combo of 15 wins or StL/ PGH losses. As the Reds only have 11 games left, they need both to lose at least 4 games even if the Reds win out.
