I'll go ahead and track the magic number and enjoy the Reds being in the playoffs, if you don't mind.
I have generally felt that the division title number should only get tracked if the Reds are in first. I did stray from that a couple of times but it seemed odd from a philosophical standpoint to track the number when they are not in front.
Pirates have 61 losses, so the Reds Magic number to beat out the Pirates is 19 (Reds wins + Pirate losses).
