And Paul Janish isn't around any more for "in case of emergency, break glass" pitching.

“Spring training was so long,” he said. “I got a little bit of fatigue in my shoulder."
Ever so slightly concerning a statement, as things longer than spring training include:

    - baseball season
    - chilly spring months of the baseball season
    - hot summer months of the baseball season
    - ideally, late September through playoff run of baseball season
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

Yes -- it ranks right up there with a "twinge in the elbow"

#Reds P Sean Marshall says he just threw 26 pitches in the bullpen, the delivery was "free and easy", should be available tomorrow.

Still no Marshall. I thought he might get in the game today.

I'm guessing we'll see Sean tomorrow.

Dusty always says he gives guys an extra day when they are ready. He also may not have wanted to give Sean a first outing with the game on the line in extras.

Whatever the reason, the Reds need him. They also need to rest Hoover for at least two days.

Shows you how important bullpen depth is. With all their ballyhooed relief pitching, the Reds still were one reliever short today.

Also, Sean Marshall had a "little setback" yesterday. And Johnny Cueto is in the DR, expected back tomorrow
    See ya next year Sean.

I think Marshall is done for 2013. Broxton probably is too. Although I haven't heard anything on him.

Wood et al. for Marshall is looking pretty bad right about now.
