There's no question that the excitement over Reds baseball has been rekindled and I think that's great. I judge it more ways than attendance. I see it in the conversation at church, the amount of red I see people wearing and what's on TV when I go out to dinner. On Friday it was on all the TVs at the place I was at and the place was into it; breaking out into a cheer when XP hit the grand slam. A few yrs ago Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune would have been on the TV

Thought this attendance versus previous year was a cool page on BRef. You can see Reds against the rest of MLB. They are 12th out of 21 so far in average attendance. Some teams yet to open still of course. They are 5th when it comes to increase from last season. Baltimore is 1st which is cool that fans have responded to their bounce back season last year.

Not a great Phillies home stand attendance wise, I guess the threat of weather was a damper. Still ahead of last year by 3 k up to this point.

"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"

The first half of the schedule is pretty crappy this year. May, June and July only have 11, 13, and 10 home dates, while August and September have 15 and 16.

This thread seem to die with the drop in attendance in April. Nevertheless, it was wonderful to see 41K at the yard on Saturday, followed up by 38K on Sunday.
As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

We've had an unusually cold spring here in Cincinnati. You couldn't pay me to go to the park on those chilly (and often wet) evenings.
