The Reds have sure done a good job promoting Opening Night. A few years ago it was just the second game and you would get 15K out there in 30 degree weather. They really made it into an event. If they draw a little over 21K today, that's 100K for a mid-week 3 game series. That doesn't happen very often.

2,355,259 is their record for GABP. Hopefully they can get close to that this year. They would need to average a little over 29k this season. Averaged almost 29k last season. You would think there is about as much excitement around the team short of a reigning world series champion as their could be, so should be able to do that and set a record.

2,629,708 is the alltime record which is also attainable.

not just a mid-week series. Opening Day and Opening Night are their 2 biggest promoted games of the year. Not to mention 1st 2 games of the year. Too early to tell how attendance will be this year.

The marketing principles that the Reds FO is applying transcend the traditional in-person promotions.

The thing that I find most impressive is that the Reds TV affiliates also continue to shatter viewer ratings expectations. Timing could not be better to renegotiate their terms with Fox Sports Ohio.

This is the more telling number. I'm not stating anything but the obvious here but, the whole vibe around the city in regards to the team is so much different than it was even 4-5 years ago.

23,795 for the day game on 4/4 (home game 3), which wrapped up the series with the Angels, taking the season attendance to 102,220.

Attendance for the series was (obviously) 102,220.

Average attendance for the season stands at 34,073.

There was a brief article in the DDN on Sunday which said season ticket sales are up 15% over last year. And that over 200,000 tickets have been purchased so far...I think that was single game tix.

If put a consistent winner out on the field folks will show up to watch. It's taken four consecutive years of at least putting a competitive team on the field but the fans are starting to come around.

Absolutely. Again, kudos to the Reds for turning something ordinary into something special.

You could also say the Power Pack is helped by having this game in it as well.
