Well, you know Cingrani has the second best stuff behind Hoover, don't you?

I watched the game on MiLB, great deal for just 40 bucks, his breaking stuff literally had guys reacting the same way they act when Chapman throws his off speed stuff, there I said it.

I watched the same game as you. When he threw it correctly, he certainly had them fooled. He threw a few bad ones too though.

I'd also argue, as I believe I did last year when we had this discussion, that a cut fastball like Cingrani's is a third pitch. (And, because he can also cut it the other way, a fourth pitch.)
He is using a different pitch.

I think Chapman, Cueto, Latos, and Bailey might disagree with your opinion, as might Robert Stephenson and perhaps Daniel Corcino.

    Hoover's got a fine wing.

It's by no means the tops in the system. And, while Cingrani's southpaw is also remarkable, it's not as remarkable, IMO, as are the ones listed above.

A decade ago, Hoover, Cingrani, and Corcino would have been anchors in the Red rotation. (Add in mid-season grabs 26-year-olds Aaron Harang and Ryan Dempster, and the Reds could have had a decent rotation, had they been patient with Dempster.)

Look how far they've come, to have those three (plus Chapman) in the pen or AAA.

Is this the Golden Age of Cincinnati pitching? I'd argue that it's every bit as good as any in their hallowed history, when comparing to league averages.

Did you watch? He did have a second.....and a third pitch although used infrequently. He absolutely buckled a LHB with a great breaking slider for a K.

A lot of people "skeptics" thought Cingrani would get lit up and struggle as he climbed the minors and it hasn't happened. "Oh, wait until he gets to the next level"..... I love the fact that Cingrani has proved those people wrong. He's a great prospect story.
Easy there. It was kind of a running joke on this board.

Cingrani didnt go 0-2 on everybody so I have to give Doug that, he watches games 10 times closer than I do. I love this guy Cingrani, him and Stephenson are crown jewels IMO.

I didn't see him on the Dayton roster. So, I am assuming he will start the year in Billings. Middle of June if that is the case.
