    Minor-League Games of Friday, April 5, 2013

Dayton had an 11 a.m. start at West Michigan. Guillon is pitching. Amaral, Vincej and Winker went 1-2-3 in the first.

On a strange, you don't see this every day note, Ismael Guillon just pitched to a 29-year-old in the Midwest League who once hit 13 home runs in this same league..... in 2006.

The Dragons are facing a pitcher named Montreal Robertson. He throws bilingually.

Dayton is runless, hitless, walkless in four innings. In his three, Guillon has struck out five. Still 1-0 home team (run in the first).

Guillon six Ks, two BBs in the bottom of the fourth. 35 strikes, 18 balls, but faltering a bit in the fourth.

Nice to see his command this early (though that may be early season hitting as much as it is Guillon locating).

I think you meant to say that he is ambilingual.

He may also be bilingual, but the rule is that we don't ask, no hablo.

Are you trying to insinuate that he works both sides of the dish?

He is a southpaw. They think differently than "normal" people.

Not going too well for Dayton in the ninth. Dragons down 6-0 with only two hits so far.

Guillon really did lose it in the 4th. His final line was 3 1/3 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 5 BB, 6K.

Carlos Sanchez has both of the Dragons' hits (both singles).

Guillon had an excellent start, but couldn't find the plate in the fourth, walking in a run on four straight free passes. Those extra pitches cost him at least an inning.

All in all, his line doesn't really tell the whole story-- solid 2013 debut for the young southpaw.

Listening to bats game on an airplane. The feed went out for 10 seconds which apparently was more then enough time for Billy to steal home!!!!

Here is what happened with the Hamilton play.

He was on third, Burris on first. Burris was essentially picked off, but he broke for 2nd instead. The first baseman decided to throw it to second and Hamilton took off for home. The throw to second base had the shortstop leaping to catch it and at that point any small chance he had to get Hamilton at home was gone. He made the throw home, but it was well after Hamilton already touched the plate.
