Not too shabby, Mr. Frazier.

I'm very surprised by the power Frazier seems to have. He hits some of the farthest home runs on the Reds. The one today, and I remember a similar one against RA Dickey to center last year.
He'll probably always be a pretty streaky hitter, and he can certainly have some weird swings, but I don't think 30 home runs on a fairly regular basis is out of the question.

What is it, exactly, that is weird about his swing? I remember reading this -- that he had an odd swing -- from the moment he was drafted, but not being much of a baseball player myself, I have a hard time seeing exactly what he's doing differently than the other players.

He swings and makes solid contact out on his front foot. This makes him look off balance many times in the batters box.

Lost in the shuffle is the fact the Reds have a successful home-grown third baseman.
They have been few and far between. Aaron Boone, Chris Sabo, ???

His swing/stance have all the typical nuances that make up a great softball swing:
- bat head high, almost horizontal
- light on front foot, with big step forward to help with weight transfer
- big follow-through and one-handed finish
I see great things in baseball. It's our game.
