Keep working that pitch count.
Close play at 2nd. Force out as Desmond bobbles it but tags the bag before the runner. 3-3 after 3.
Man...so close.
“The crows seem to be calling my name,” thought Caw.
an out but another bobble
60 pitches thru 3 --- got to love that --- not what I've come to expect from the Reds
The older I get - the better I was
and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)
I miss Raisor
Through 3 innings:
Cueto 51 pitches
Strasburg 60 pitches
Nats are defiantly having trouble catching the ball
I'm struggling to see all of the intriguing strategy involved in the bottom of the third inning. Basically, the Reds did nothing strategically in anticipation of Cueto batting and the Nats just simply walked Hanigan to get to Cueto. The only exciting thing about that was the bobble on Cueto's weak grounder which I'm pretty confident in saying, wasn't what Dusty was playing for strategy-wise.
"This isn’t stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Mariner
Espinosa grounds out to 2nd.
Enjoyable series, two good teams, however it comes out.
But I'm a little distressed that both Leake and Cueto allowed big homers to the eighth place hitting catcher.
Yesterday, as Dusty himself said, the pitcher was on deck with two outs and nobody warming up.
Today, it looked like a pitch that got too much of the plate.
As much as I hate giving up walks, I think these pitchers need to be a little less aggressive in coming over the plate to these eighth place hitters.
Kelch now says that the opposition eighth hitters have hit the Reds well througout the short season so far. Shouldn't happen this much.
damn kurt suzuki
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
Suzuki doubles to left center. It was close at 2nd on a good throw by Choo
Choo has a crazy accurate arm.
