Dee Gordon hit an over the wall HR the day of Hamilton hit two. I think Gordon started to feel weak when he saw that.

I think a better comp for Hamilton is Otis Nixon. They really seem to be very similar players, even shifting from SS to CF before reaching the majors.

Picked a bad week for that comp.

Dee Gordon is still the only baseball player I have stood next to and felt big.

Someone pointed out Jose Altuve to me in a mall one day. I thought no way. But it certainly did look like him. Short and squat. You would never think professional athlete. The Astros are still considered a professional baseball team, right?

Tonight Sliding Billy shows just what he can do. Infield single. Steals 2nd, to 3rd on the catcher's throw. scores on a groundout to 2nd.

Hamilton starting to find his groove at the dish. 3 more hits tonight and 9 runs scored in last 4 games.

I met Brandon Inge about 11-12 years ago at old Ned Skeldon in Toledo, OH when he was still a catching prospect and towered over him. He was in cleats on cement and I still looked down at the top of his head! Haha

For those keeping track at home, this lifts Billy's line to .236/.291/.343

The most encouraging stat this year for Billy is that his K rate is down to a career low of 15.9%. Limiting Ks will be pivotal for a guy like Billy who can do so much when the ball is put into play.

They talked about Billy on Fringe Average this week (while also giving Doug a shout out) and Parks seems to be a little down on whether or not Hamilton's bat will play in the bigs.

Simple question without regard to how he would adjust...

But how long do you expect Billy's super-speed to last? At what age does he become just a "fast" runner.

Sounds like it might be time to grab my phone and listen to it then. I was going to save it for the bike ride later.
