I'm thinking of getting my 9 year old son a tablet of some sort. I would like it to access youtube, download and play games, be able to take pictures and video. I would also like it to have a 10 inch screen. Would anyone have any suggestions for this in the $200 and under range. Thanks in advance.
We got my oldest (10) a Kindle Fire HD for Christmas. We got him the 7" version. He loves it. If you go Kindle my advice is to pay a little extra for no advertisements. I don't like how it is so easily integrated into the Amazon shopping system. So if you don't trust him. Look elsewhere.

I have the original Kindle Fire and I like it, but don't love it. My main problem is that I hate the fact that I can't access the Google Play store, which means I am often sideloading adds I download and transfer from my phone. Kids won't have to deal with that. I have used the HD and it is nice. One work around with the "being so easily linked to the Amazon shopping system" I have seen is people buying those prepaid credit cards and opening an account on one of those. My friend does that with his kids and they get $10 a month on theirs if they are good.Originally Posted by LoganBuck
