I will only be concerned if Marshall's shoulder and Cueto's injury is really serious. I still do not understand how you can be OK all through ST.....then have fatigue just beacuse you arrived a few weeks earlier. I think there is more to it.

    Here comes Hoover....

There must be something in his contract requiring his arm to fall off of his body.

Personally, I wouldn't intentionally put a .138 hitter on base.

OK, now this is stupid. You are never going to pitch Broxton or Chapman...and when they finally do.....they will probably not pitch very well.

We really should have brought more than 3 relief pitchers into the season.
    Is it "next season" yet?

This is why the strikeout debate is so misleading. The Cards hit with men on base because they don't strike out. For the last several years, they do not strike out. They put the ball in play.

This year so far the Reds have (before tonight) 94 Ks on offense. The Cards have 72.

The impact of the strikeout is unimportant. The failure to make contact with pitches is very important.

I'm starting to wonder what Dusty's motive is with Hoover. Did he not get his way when Hoover made the roster, and now he's just trying to prove a point?

    Where's LeCure?

at least they have a NEW hitting coach.. we have had the same one since Jerry "I'm a Baseball Guy" Narron..!!! i want a new philosophy and a new set of ears..Look when Edmonds was here.. he helped Bruce big time and Stubbs as well as they both had a short compact swing and driving the ball with authority.. Bruce hit 3 homeruns on 5 pitches.. that was his best swing since he got up to the Reds his first week when he used the entire field. not like he trys to Adam Dunn everything to RF as he does now..Plus why doesnt the coaches wpitch everything outside to Bruce in BP to get them to hit it to beat the shift. things like that..

Dusty will deserve some blame when this kid has his arm fall off.

Just relax, Hoover. Reds will probably lose anyway. Relax, throw hard, you'll do well.

The overworked JJ Hoover brings his 5.2 innings to the mound.
