Votto HR is definitely a silver lining, I can see a power display out of him coming soon.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
Blame this one on Dusty.
When my 14 year old nephew says on the second batter of Broxton's inning "Broxton doesn't have it today. Get him out of there". Dusty sits back and lets the wheels fall off. I've seen it way too many times with Dusty. It never fails.
And why Broxton hasn't gotten any gametime lately is inexcusable. Dusty will use Hoover ever chance he gets, but can't get Broxton some work? Unreal.
Between injuries and the team looking lifeless, they may be looking at a fire sale come trade deadline rather than picking up some help.
I wonder how long the Castellini's and Walt will put up with this, if it continues down this path. Yikes.
the cards lost today too...there's always a silver lining.
Okay I'm as mad as anyone but fire sale? I don't think so.
This team started off pretty bad last year and everyone and their brother was claiming the sky was falling, and they won 97 games.
Assuming Cueto isn't out too awfully long (fingers crossed) things will probably be okay. They could certainly be better though in the present if Dusty wasn't so stubbornly set in his ways of "this player his this role and ONLY this role". But he's not going anywhere.

I WISH I could agree, but I just feel kicked in the teeth yet again by this team.
Give me a few hours and a few glasses of the kool-aid, and maybe that will change. Or maybe not. I'm just tired.
The only good thing right now is the &%#$% Cardinals lost too.
And despite what some are saying here, this one IS Dusty's fault, this entire series was the result Dusty's poor management. I want to hear him take responsibility and apologize for once.
That's what I've been doing all afternoon, with occasional moments of checking in on the Reds game. I did see the 7th/8th innings meltdown though. Thought it best to stay away from the game thread, as I knew it would be a train wreck. This team will likely turn it around, but they have some issues right now.
We had a worse record at the same time last year. I'm not worried. This team has too much talent to fail. At worst they'll be wild-cards IMO.
That said...getting swept by the Pirates leaves a bad taste in my mouth. This shouldn't have happened.
I see great things in baseball. It's our game.
