"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Nix may have made the weakest throw I have ever seen.

BP is red hot. Love it. Keep walking Joey.

Boy am I glad that odds aren't fate! Way to go BP!
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Helluva 19-hop throw to plate by Nix
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"

That's a great quote. I may have to steal that.
"Man, the pitch looks fast, even in slow motion." Thom Brennaman on Chapman's fastball.

Votto's like having Terry Forster on the basepaths these days.
