I like Jay, but the hypersensitivity to criticism of him around these parts can be a bit much.
I know this is an older post I'm replying to, but BP's WARP (which I prefer for batters) has Bruce at 3 wins already, projecting to be over 4.

Strange to see his approach leading to a 4:1 bb:k ratio, highest of his career. 124k : 31bb. He's also on track for his highest oWAR, so hack away Jay! Oh yeah, nice opposite field HR last night.

He has been around 10% BB rate since 2009, so I hope it is just some adjustments that are being made, and he can get that number back up there if not higher. He has also been around a 2.5/1 K/BB guy, so I hope he can get back there as well.

That said, I love the production, and seemingly shorter down times.

Agree. You never know what strings Bruce has to pull in his approach in order to have shorter fallow periods. Maybe the K/BB decline is a result of whatever he's doing otherwise to improve. Hopefully he can manage to keep the consistency AND bring his BB% back up to snuff.
