Everyone was calling for Joey to take a day off, and today he just turns it back on. Amazing.

That's it Joey! Screw that defensive hitting.

scout: Wade LeBlanc has thrown 80 pitches but has plenty left in the tank, with his fastball sitting at 84 over the past 10 pitches.

    Thanks MLB.com, very helpful.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Have to give Mes kudos this inning. In this lineup, when the eighth hitter leads off with a hit, things happen.

Phillips 1-2 count. Now ball 2.

LeBlanc with 83 pitches in the fourth inning.

Brandon fouls it off. Tough two strike hitter.

Brandon pops up. 2-0 through 4.

I'll give him kudos for the hit....but he loses some for that baserunning. No clue what he was thinking on that one.

Btw...sorry, it sounds like I'm piling on Mesoraco. I'm not trying to. I like Mes, I really do. But he does have some things he needs to work on still.

Notice that Votto pulled the ball on his two RBI hits, including the homer. Maybe part of the problem has been too much of this opposite field jazz.

Lead off double for the Marlins in the fifth.

Yeah, but that baserunning mistake had no effect.

Now it's first and third as the Marlins have a single to right. Double was by Olivo, single by Solano.

Pitcher coming out for a pinch hitter.

This inning is trouble with the bottom of the order with lead off hits.

Lefty Mahoney is up with first and third. 1-1 count.

Single up the middle. 2-1 game, first and second.

Arroyo has come out with nothing in the fifth.

True, but that was mostly due to a mistake by the Marlins. A good defensive team would've taken advantage of that mistake.

Pierre is up. Double play. Good play Frazier on soft liner.

Just incredibly irritating that the Reds only have two runs here.

    Now two outs.

Mesoraco is a very young player. He will make mistakes. Hanigan was no great shakes as a rookie -- which functionally Mes still is. Give him time, he has a lot of talent.

0-2 on Polanco. Two outs, one run lead for the Reds.

Tie game on a double by Polanco on an 0-2 pitch.
