This ump's zone has gotten VERY erratic the past few innings.

Too bad they're not elite swings.

Votto was a second-round draft choice. The scouts saw more than just his contact ability I would think. I doubt if Country Kepp went in the second round. (Actually Keppinger went in the 4th round)

Re-read what I was posting. Votto is simply put the best player in the league, quite possibly the best player in the bigs. I was talking about his individual tools. His speed tool. His hit tool. His power tool. Etc.

    Webb has some good stuff.

I got to say I'm pretty impressed with this Marlins bullpen. They may not have much else, but they have some good arms in the pen.

In the past 5 years combined, Votto leads all of baseball in wOBA (.423). Only five other players in baseball are above .400.

How on earth is that NOT an elite talent? Good grief. I'm sorry, but maker is just trolling if he's trying to suggest that. And since I know of his proven track record for doing just that, I'm going to assume that's all it is here.

So you're saying that quite possibly the best player in MLB isn't an elite talent?

How would you rate Pujols' tools? How would you have rated Babe Ruth's tools? Both guys had only power and contact skills and are two of the greatest players to play the game. You don't have to have all 5 tools to be an elite talent.

Votto reads RedsZone. He wants to assuage the board's concerns. Joey is such a nice guy.
