Phillips learning from Votto? I can't remember seeing Phillips dial back his swing with 2 strikes the way he has so far this year.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I just looked it up. Bruce 7 K's in his last 13 at-bats.

If I'm looking to trade for Stanton, I'm either an AL team, or hoping the NL adopts the DH next year. He's brutal in the field.

I don't think I was simply talking about this game.

I'd like to think I reversed the karma with my comment though!

Homering to center, singles to center. Phillips may be putting together one heck of a season if he continues that approach.

    helluva AB by Bruce
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Kinda funny. They threw him that inside offspeed pitch that Jay usually whiffs on. He held back finally.

Helluva AB by Jay there. 2 borderline strikes to start the AB that he decided wisely to NOT swing at.
