    Sunday 4/21/13 Minor League Games

Louisville the only affiliate underway so far today. 0-0 in the Top of the 4th. Billy is 1-1 with a walk and the Bats' only hit so far, a single. Two stolen bases so far, one of second and one of third, to give him 13 on the year. Still with only one caught stealing.

Louisville wasted a good effort in Yohan Pino's first start for the Bats: 5.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 BB. 3 K. Hamilton and Phipps had the only Louisville hits in a 2-1 loss. Phipps' was a HR. Mark Prior threw two scoreless innings, with 0 BB, 3 K.

Dayton's bullpen (Bender, Chacin) gave up six runs in the final two innings and the Dragons fell 7-5. Winker, heating up and batting fourth, hit his first HR of the season. He also walked twice. Junior Arias had a couple hits.

Chris Berset, of all people, has a HR and 2B for Bakersfield. Moscot fared better this time: 5.2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K. But the Blaze trail 4-2 after six.

Daniel Renken got roughed up in the first inning. Pensacola trails 4-0 in the second.

However, Tucker Barnhart's double puts him at .325. At .325, Barnhart is quite a player. On the other hand, it's April.

Dominic D'Anna's 3-run HR has Bakersfield tied 5-5 after eight.

Have to give Moscot some time, he skipped a level. Good chance he will get better over time.

Kyle McMyne was not up to the challenge of the bottom of the ninth. Bakersfield comes up short, 6-5.

Michael Gilmartin had a pair of doubles.

Donald Lutz's second hit of the game was a 2-run HR, his fifth, and Pensacola now trails 6-3 in the sixth.

In spite of the poor results, Renken walked none and fanned six in his five innings.

Man, hope Lutz keeps it up. He would be a perfect (and low-cost/controllable) solution to the Reds LF questions (although I still holdout forlorn hope to re-sign Choo).
