    Money!

    That's Votto's new nickname: Money
Sabermetrics is this: A batter's goal is to extend the inning. Extend enough innings and you're going to score runs. Extend more innings than your opponent and you're going to score more runs than him.

Forget the rain. It's never an official game until the Reds piss away a run between third base and home plate. - Bluegrass Redleg

Votto!! I'm glad they've got Barney playing defense out there, not Phillips

And we're supposed to be a championship caliber team. One opponent is 4-16. The other is 5-13. They don't have Koufax and Drysdale. They don't even have Podres. Or Osteen for that matter.

    Go Reds.

Meanwhile, looking back at this game, Cingrani has impressed.

Remember when the Reds couldn't come up with starting pitchers? Remember when they were a low strikeout staff?

    DatDudeBB, 1st and 2nd with 1 out.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

No matter what people say about Thom, and I'm not saying they are wrong, especially when one considers all of his long winded, run-on, convoluted things he says at times, but no matter what some people say about Thom, I love the way he calls a big play. There I said it.

    Go Reds.
If you played the best team against the worst team for 150 games, the difference is about one game for every 3-game series.

In a single 3-game series at any given time, the differences should not be very pronounced.
"No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference." ~Tommy Lasorda
