    Miguel Cairo

Does anyone know what's up with Cairo? He isn't listed on the Reds roster on reds.com, but everywhere I look still lists him with the Reds.

Last night after the win Dusty hugged a guy that had to be Cairo. So is he a manager now or something?

I don't think he's hurt but I'm sure someone here knows.

If I recall correctly, he's a memober of the coaching staff, and will fill in as the third base coach when Mark Berry is too ill or receiving treatment for his cancer.

Berry hasn't be coaching third base all year, Speier has been. Cairo is on the coaching staff and I think Berry's illness is why he's in the dugout.

Cairo was hired as a special assistant to Walt.

Oh ok, thanks. Sorry I had some misinformation, I thought I heard Cairo would be at third base. But he's strictly in the dugout.

You probably heard, like I did, that Cairo would be in the dugout when Speier was coaching third for Berry while getting his treatments. Probably just got it mixed up.

I think the original plan was for Cairo to be third base coach on road trips.

But yeah, special assistant is what Cairo was to be.
