You're right, we haven't discussed this before!
"On-base percentage is great if you can score runs and do something with that on-base percentage," Baker said. "Clogging up the bases isn't that great to me."

I never really understood why Parra was signed in the first place. It only made sense when the Chapman to rotation move was being considered. No doubt in my mind who should go when Marshall comes back off the DL.

My oh my...... Parra is awful isn't he? It's interesting to look at his career stats and see how he is one of those guys that did well enough in his first season to tease people into thinking he had some potential, but instead has steadily gotten worse in each successive year. I choked when they kept Parra instead of Arredondo. Hopefully he's gone when Marshall returns.

Because they wanted another lefty. I understand. but its not worth it. Para's just not good enough. Miserable effort tonight.

Don't forget about the 5.02 BB/9 and a 4.13 xFIP in 2012. Neither guy is ideal. I don't think Dusty wanted to pitch Parra today, but he had no choice with an overworked pen.

Tonight was embarrassing. I know these things happen, but say we have Marshall or Arredondo, we wouldn't have lost in that fashion.

Is there no failed SP prospect available freely out there? Gotta think one of those types would be better than what Parra offers at this point.
They don't think it be like it is, but it do.

Arredondo has 9 walks in 10 innning in AAA this season so far. He wouldn't have been much better.

He's been adequate the last few years, including a memorable effort in Yankee Stadiuim last year. In any event I'll take a walk over a Barney HR.

Parra had a 5.4 BB/9 in 2012 and a 4.11 xFIP..there is NO way he is better than Arredondo based on stats.

Parra has now pitched Just a few innings. He's allowed 23 hits and 11 earned runs. No place for him in a tie game. So it goes. Time for him to leave.
