Conspiracy Theory: Is Cingrani actually Jim Coombs in disguise?

Think about it... Have you ever seen them both on the same field or in the same photo? I know I haven't.

Finances mattered more to me when the team was obviously fairly pathetic and had much better ways to spend their money. The way the team is currently structured, a great way to spend money is to enhance the major league product.

I'm just planning to be a fan of the 2018 Reds. Reading about Brad Lesley today reminds me just how much I don't want the 2018 team to be like the 1983 team.

The Castellinis might not own the team in 2018. I'd prefer that they not burn up all the fuel from the rocket between now and then. Burn some now and save some for 2018.

2018 is quite a ways away. If Cingrani is still doing well in 2018, I suspect the Reds could have money to pay him as some of the guys making larger salaries will be done or elsewhere by then. Arroyo for one probably won't be with the Reds. I suspect a couple of other starters will be gone too. Just the law of averages. Players get hurt, others underperform, and some just get replaced by talent coming up through the system. Unlike past regimes, I feel confident the current one can sufficiently manage the roster and salaries to keep the players worth keeping and replace the ones that are not.

Cingrani on pace to be the next Cole Hamels?

    From the Elias Sports Bureau.

"The last major league rookie pitcher with 11 or more strikeouts and two or fewer hits allowed in a start was Philadelphia's Cole Hamels on August 3, 2006 (12 strikeouts, 2 hits allowed)."

Are you doubting Cingrani's inner potential ace?

Isn't there a designated Tony Cingrani Thread?

I love Cingrani. But can't we put these all in one thread?

They already merged 2 threads. Can we keep the Cingrani enthusiasm in one thread please?

There are still four Cingrani threads in the top 15 under ORG. I'm tired.

Flags fly forever. Go for the championships now -- no one wants to spin yarns to their grandkids about those "Pretty good, but not great" Reds teams of the early-2010s.
