I wonder if Mike Leake could be the Scott Sullivan type we've wanted.

The sample size is ridiculously small. I also want to watch his pitch counts.
That said, no way in the world do I want to see Cingrani sent down just to keep him from reaching Super Two status. If he keeps pitching like this the Reds have a much better chance of reaching 2013 World Championship status.

Cingrani isn't going down to AAA unless he slumps.
When Cueto returns, Reds will have to decide whether Leake or Cingrani goes to the pen. I'm guessing Leake. Some chance Leake goes to AAA, but I doubt it.
Since Arroyo's contract ends this year, both Leake and Cingrani have a future with the Reds, who likely will put both in the 2014 rotation.
Just curiously, and not because I'm doubting you, but only because I'm too lazy to do the research myself, but what are some examples of this? In my very selective and poor memory, I can't remember a rookie dominating like Cingrani has in his first three starts, that didn't stick around and have success at the MLB level. But that's mostly because I can't remember too many being this dominant.

Cy Young went 9-7 in his rookie year. I know, wins aren't a good metric.
Baseball has had quite a few tales of David Clyde and Mark Fidrych.
I remember Cueto's debut was spectacular. Then he had to develop.
Leake skipped the minors then regressed.
Homer Bailey was rushed, and it showed.
But why not let Cingranati show what he can do, for as long as he can?
Dontrelle Willis? A couple of really good years. A couple of mediocre years. Overall subpar career? I feel like the national media painted him as dominant during the beginning of his career but it's been too long, can't really remember if they really did or I am just imagining things.
Today Cingrani pitched with an intensity I've rarely seen in a pitcher.
As if he knows that this is his shot now, and that he has no intention of letting it slip away. Kudos to Buckley and the scouting department.
