$5K is a joke, but if you start slapping out 6 digit fines, I'm positive it will stop.
That would be fine, but in general leagues have been less willing to dish out a 6 digit fine for something like this.

That's where the human element comes in too, because it's generally subjective. Who would want anyone the responsibility for giving Lebron a 100K fine because it looked like he flopped.

Like I said, refs should just take a "fool me once shame on you," If Lebron gets trucked over and doesn't get the call a couple times, he'll get the message.

Personally they know they flopped or not if they start talking to the ref about it give them one warning then T them up. They do it again T em again and theyre done. Thats the best way to deal with it IMO. Whats 6 figures to a guy like LeBron or wade who probably get 7-8 figures from endorsements alone (not even counting their salary from the Heat).

I think it would be great. I think we'd see less flopping as a result of stricter fines.

Disagree. $5K? Sure. not $100K or $250K. That's a noticeable hit to the pocketbook. Especially if you rack up a few of those fines.

A good flopper can fool a ref in real time very easily. Conversely, watching the play back on tape makes it incredibly easy to spot a flop.

If you think any of these guys are going to keep flopping after they get their first 6 figure fine you're crazy. It would be a thing of the past.

I am sure the Spurs are enjoying it.

Wade and Bosh have been laughable. I know Wade is apparently hurt or something, but what's Bosh's excuse? At least give some effort.

Lebron is going into his old Cleveland mode which is bad for the Heat. He can probably win game 7 on his own, but he can't beat the Spurs by himself.

If the NBA allows an all ABA/small market final I will be shocked.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

Roy Hibbert and or David West will get called for two fouls in warm ups tonight, I have seen this play before only it was Rik Smits instead of Hibbert.

The Pacers were never going to beat the Lakers. The Lakers were just better. But I have to believe the NBA is worried about this Pacers team. They really are just as good as the Heat.

Wasn't the Lakers I was thinking of, the mid 90's Knicks series' and the Jordan era Bulls game 7 and the worst was the Larry Johnson 4 point play.

It would be nice to see the Pacers break through. True upsets are hard to come by in the NBA. It would be great for my interest level tonight, that's for sure. Hopefully, Czar Stern keeps his finger off the kill switch that sicks his ref-bots on the unwashed.

Hell, if Stern was in a game fixing mood, one could say it would be in his best interest to give it to the Pacers this time, bite the bullet on this big market finals, and increase fan interest all over with an increased perception of parity.
