I live and die with the Reds and UK/Ohio U hoops. I don't have an NBA team so I am free to pick and choose the games I watch and can be more acquainted with the game as a whole. It is wonderful. The same thing goes for Premier League soccer. Today was wonderful, whereas it would have been miserable to be either a Spurs/Arsenal fan and have to go through that mess.

I live in Indiana now and travel to Cincinnati a lot, so the line as blurred. I do remember thinking Indianapolis was "too far" to go for any reason - even if it meant a Jordan-Miller matchup. Now I consider it's 1.5-2 hours and that isn't bad at all. And really, it's not. Perhaps the Pacers have market tested Cincinnati with no luck. But to me now, if there were an opportunity to gain significant relevance, it's right now - no matter what. Throw up a billboard or three on 71, 75, and the Lateral: West, Stephenson, and the Eastern Finals. It's also great PR for both UC and XU programs coming together, etc.

I got a chance to go to Game 6 on Saturday and I got reminded how much fun NBA games are in person. I can be parked and in the arena in about 2 hours. There's no reason I shouldn't go to at least a couple games a year except that I just don't.

Playoffs are very different from regular season, though. There are lots of regular season games with zero atmosphere in the NBA.

Agreed. And I probably wouldn't go up there for a game against Sacramento on a Tuesday in December. But there are enough "attractive" games in a 41 game home schedule that they should at least get a sniff from people like me.

The pacers have a nice product and Bankers Life field house is a great place to watch a game.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

I think the original point was how watered down the nba is. The nba has a smaller following during the regular season for that reason. Unless you're a dedicated fan of a team, the postseason has more of a following.

The big screen is an amazing, spectacular, monstrosity. I couldn't believe it. Great venue all around.

2.2 seconds left, Lebron gets a drive to the rim to win it. Why would you overplay the inbounds and give him the drive? If Lebron makes a 17 footer with time winding down to beat you so be it, can't give him a layup.

Either way, just an amazing basketball game. This is gonna be a good series.

That was one of the best basketball games I have ever watched. Paul George is going to be a superstar, really impressive stuff. Lebron is going to be the GOAT when it's over. He is unstoppable. Hats over to Spolestra for that inbounds play as well.

I don't know how great that play was. George made a stupid half a'd attempt to over play and got beat badly. I think it's silly to over play in that situation at all but if you are then really over play and make them have to throw a pass over you.

That shot at the end of regulation by George was incredible. When he jumped he was leaning and off balance but I can't believe how square he got as he went up. By the time he released it he almost perfectly square to the basket and perpendicular to the floor. Amazing body control and athleticism.

George over played it a bit because of the run James made. Lebron still made a very athletic move that maybe two or three other guys could have made to get to the rim. I just liked the creativity in the runs to set up the pass to Lebron.

I didn't mean Lebron didn't make a great play, I meant I don't think Spo did anything real special in drawing it up. I think if George plays that properly Lebron has to take a jumper, which he still may make because he's the best player in the game but I could live with that.

How do you let the best player in the world have almost unmolested layups with 10 seconds left in regulation and with 2 seconds left in OT?
