That's one of the coolest GIF's I've seen. It also shows how scary good Yu is.
Honest question. Could you not do this with several other top pitchers or is Yu something special?

You could do it with most pitchers. 5 pitches does separate him some, but heck, a guy like Homer Bailey throws a 2-seam, 4 seam, split, curve and slider.

Consistently having command of pitches is better than having a bunch in your arsenal. Yu seems to have both these things going for him.

I am assuming that Pujols was not the batter for all five pitches. If you look at the batter in the GIF you can see the ghost of multiple stance placements. Either a different batter was up for a pitch or two, Pujols was changing where he was set up, or the GIF is manipulated to make the release point look the same. (I do not think the GIF is manipulated as the background looks consistent and "ghost" free.)

It looks like one of the jerseys in the video is a #27. So at least one of those pitches is to someone other than Pujols.
