Will Dusty let Izturis bat in the 9th inning?

That's BS sabre-logic. Ask any starting pitcher if wins mean anything to them. Look at Homer's face when he was pulled for a pinch hitter tonight and tell me wins don't mean anything to him. And please save me the sabre-lecture. I've heard it all before.

Absolutely. What if the game winds up tied? You can't have a short bench for extras.

I am sure it means something to Homer. I can't wait for the day in which the win stat being given to a player is abolished. It is beyond stupid to credit a single player for the win or the loss.

Reds pitchers 'have' been playing by themselves...they surely haven't had help from the offense.

He let Corky bat (I understand he walked).

Brox lowers his ERA a bit.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
