1-2-3 for Hoover. Outside of that first week or so of him getting used every day it seemed, he's looked considerably better. Overuse or dead-arm after long ST? Either way, nice to see him throwing better.

I know Cozart hit it on a line and could've gapped...but I wouldn't have minded seeing him take a strike. Pitcher just walked Choo and threw a first pitch ball to Cozart. With Votto on deck I wouldn't have minded extending that AB a little.

I understand people wanting guys to work the count...but in my mind, if you see a pitch you can really drive and it's right in your sweet spot...letting it sail past for the sake of pitch count is counter-productive.

If you get your pitch let her rip. Might have been the best one he would have got.

Votto grounds out to short. 1 down.

Swing looking much better today. Some well struck balls from Joey today too.

If you barrel the ball up, there is really nothing else anyone can ask of you.
Everything that can be counted does not necessarily count; everything that counts cannot necessarily be counted.

Storen is not keeping the ball down. Gotta take advantage.

I agree with the points above...and if his rope had dropped it would've been magical. I wasn't saying take for the sake of increased pitch count...just seeing if the guy could deliver multiple strikes after being rattled by an rbi single and a walk back to back. I don't blame Cozart for ripping on it, just wouldn't have minded seeing him take one considering the two previous ABs and the guy on deck.

Washington announcers calling Votto a hot head and saying his behavior is inappropriate. I will say this, in an earlier Votto AB, you could hear Votto drop the F-bomb through the Washington broadcast.
