1-2-3 go the Nats. Great job Marshall.

Win or lose, the Reds have shown definite improvement in this game. Sure, you can say that they still lost, and that Leake had a meltdown, but 9 hits and 3 runs, with solid work from the bullpen is a good sign.

    Soriano in for the Nats.

Hitting for Marshall is Izturis (I would've gone Robinson, oh well).
    Mesoraco
    Frazier
    Choo
    Cozart
    Votto
    Phillips
    Bruce

    all to follow...this inning.

Two hard hit balls with good defensive plays away from winning. Sometimes you don't get the bounces. Other than Leake walking guys early this hasn't been a bad effort.

True. Simon looked pretty piss-poor too IMO though.

A good manager would have also. But we have Dusty. I'm sure he will say Izzy hits better days after Fridays at around 4:05 after he had a slice of pizza and the pitcher throws 94-95.

*sigh* Liner right at short. That was a bullet.

This offense is gonna explode soon. Big time. Maybe not today...but really positive signs today.

Probably anecdotal, but we have to play the worst baseball when we go to DC. Do we ever win there or in Philly.
Yes that was a very impressive infield single. I thought for a second it was leaving the yard. - texasdave 10/13/12

Didn't know that. Another reason on the long, long, LONG list of why I'm not a MLB manager.

I don't know, is 2 runs in 6 innings off a guy like Haran improvement? Pretty depressing affair.
